2017 CSA Week 10

by danberube on September 3, 2017

Hello Farm Friends!

It feels like fall out there all of a sudden, but we’re still going strong into the home stretch. With any luck, Butternut squash and eggplant will make their debut in the share this week. We’ve also planted some late season white turnips and radishes which should grow quickly in these conditions and be ready for weeks 12 & 13. Other than that, it’s business as usual as we are harvesting large quantities of peppers and tomatoes for the share, and beginning to break down portions of the field for the winter cover crop planting.

We are into the final month of the CSA, so if you have a 7-week share, be sure to use up all your pickups in the next 4 weeks.

Enjoy your Labor Day, and hopefully you’re serving some of our farm fresh veggies!

Here is a list of what we are expecting to harvest this week. Please keep in mind this list is subject to change based on crop conditions.

Lookin’ Good
Bell Peppers
Hot Peppers
Winter Squash (might be Spaghetti, Lakota or Butternut if ready)

Fingers Crossed
Swiss Chard
Red Russian Kale
